About the Retail Ready Program

The Lafayette Parish Retail Ready Program is an exciting expansion of the City of Broussard's successful Retail Ready Initiative. The program will be available in all six Lafayette Parish municipalities: Broussard, Carencro, Duson, Lafayette, Scott, and Youngsville. This initiative aims to catalyze economic growth and enhance community development by focusing on prime sites suitable for restaurant, entertainment, and retail development.

The Lafayette Parish Retail Ready Program is committed to fostering an environment where businesses can thrive— contributing to the overall prosperity and quality of life in our communities. Join us in transforming Lafayette Parish into a premier destination for retail and entertainment excellence.

Program Mission

Our mission is to identify and promote strategically located sites across Lafayette Parish that are ideal in size and quality for retail and entertainment projects. By streamlining the development process, we aim to create vibrant commercial hubs that serve as economic engines for our communities.

Program Goals

  • Expedited Permitting Process: We aim to fast-track the permitting process for retail development projects, reducing wait times and removing bureaucratic hurdles to ensure that businesses can start operating as soon as possible.
  • Enhanced Visibility: The program offers robust marketing support for both listed and non-listed sites that meet our program’s criteria. By highlighting these prime locations, we attract top-tier retailers and developers to our municipalities.
