Our Shipping Department Clerks are in a unique position to have a high impact on patients through the final fulfillment and shipping process. They help us to go above and beyond to ensure that customers receive the correct prescription in a timely manner, while experiencing superior customer service.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Process patient credit card payments for pharmacy sales using the pharmacy’s POS system with attention to detail.
- Anticipate prescriber and customer needs and resolve issues quickly by finding forward thinking solutions and determining what can be done to fulfill a request.
- Accurately box medications for shipment to ensure stability, durability and usability by selecting packaging products that are validated to maintain the appropriate temperature range and by following the outline pack out steps. Always follow cold chain validated pack-out procedures for refrigerated products.
- Select delivery/courier vendor and method (Next Day, Next Day Saturday, Signature Required, UPR, etc.) according to Shipping Policy and Procedure.
- Review comments for specific delivery instructions and compare delivery and mailing address to ensure accuracy.
- Perform a quality check to ensure the correct medication is being shipped to the correct patient.
- Restock and refill supplies (vials, lids, NasoNebs, etc.)
- Prepare packages for courier deliveries by entering demographics, packaging the medications and inputting the form of payment.
- Prepare medications so they are stocked and ready to be used for filling (i.e. mupirocin “cubes” and “flat packs”, clindamycin, etc..
- Make sure standard orders for vials are opened and packaged appropriately for shipment.
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
- Answer telephones in a timely manner, direct calls to appropriate personnel and escalate clinical questions to a pharmacist when required.
Salary Range: $15 - $16/hour
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Handling patient information with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment
