Key Responsibilities

  • Installation: Properly install new lighting systems, signage, and related electrical components according to specifications, blueprints, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance as well as unscheduled repairs on existing lighting and signage systems.
  • LED Conversions: Lead or assist with energy-efficient LED retrofit projects, including fixture upgrades, driver replacements, and lighting control system integrations.
  • Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to emergency service calls, diagnose issues quickly, and restore functionality with minimal downtime for clients.
  • Troubleshooting: Accurately diagnose electrical, mechanical, and structural problems in lighting and signage equipment.
  • Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all OSHA, NEC (National Electrical Code), and company safety standards. Ensure all work is performed safely and that job sites are left clean and hazard-free.
  • Documentation: Complete detailed service reports, maintenance logs, inventory records, and time entries for every job.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with clients on-site, explain technical issues in clear terms, and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Inventory & Tools: Maintain company vehicle, tools, and equipment in excellent condition. Monitor and report inventory needs.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the installation and sales teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Salary Range: Negotiable


Qualifications:

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a service technician, electrician, or in a similar hands-on technical role (lighting or signage experience strongly preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, transformers, ballasts, and LED technology.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfort working at heights (ladders, lifts, bucket trucks) and in various outdoor and indoor environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical license or apprenticeship training (helpful but not always required).
  • Experience with signage (channel letters, monument signs, etc.).
  • Knowledge of lighting controls, sensors, and energy management systems.
  • CDL or aerial lift certification.
