Summary of Position: 

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all our guests ensuring they will want to return again and again.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Welcome and greet guests. Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
  • Responsible for maintaining the menu board for the porch with correct information from the daily menu issued out by Director of Hospitality.
  • Establish a “clean as you go” concept for area of interest and expect a daily inspection of your area
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and relay orders to the kitchen.
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen to guests in a timely matter.
  • Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Maintain clean service areas. Sweep dining area and wipe tables at end of each shift.
  • Keep windowsills, baseboards, and chair rails clean and free of dust and debris.
  • Keep the register area clean and clutter free.
  • Replenish condiments and alcohol as needed
  • Pre-bus tables to avoid table clutter and ensure dishes are delivered to dishwasher in timely manner.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.
  • Count start-up money bag.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
  • Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
  • Attend scheduled training classes as requested by Director of Hospitality
  • Responsible for reporting to work on time and dressed in uniform in accordance with Vermilionville’s standard of policies. 
  • Must maintain a VALID state and city bar card.
