The Senior Maintenance Manager leads the maintenance team to ensure optimal performance of plant equipment and facilities. This role oversees the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities. The manager is responsible for upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and reliability.

 

In this job, you’ll do things like:

  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost reduction and operational excellence throughout Operations.
  • Foster a culture of safety by promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of equipment and facilities.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Support CAPEX installations and commissioning. Evaluate and procure tools and resources to enhance maintenance and reliability efforts.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to ensure maintenance staff are skilled and equipped with necessary tools and knowledge.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support new product development and innovation initiatives.
  • Lead, inspire, and develop the maintenance team through regular feedback and professional development plans.
  • Manage maintenance and repair expense budgets

Qualifications:

Must-haves to apply for this job:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. (Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering preferred but will accept other degree with relevant Operations Management experience in lieu of Engineering degree.)
  • 7+ years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment or Operations Management role
  • Leadership experience with demonstrated responsibility for the Maintenance department which includes full department budget responsibilities of maintenance.
  • 5+ years supervisory experience of direct reports and contractors in a manufacturing setting
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

What will give you an edge:

  • 10+ years maintenance work experience in manufacturing operations or related manufacturing experience
  • Working knowledge of food packaging materials and food packaging and processing equipment 
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software.
  • Experience in CPG industry 
  • Demonstrated experience in applied continuous improvement techniques like Lean/Six Sigma
  • Experience working with Microsoft products and track record of learning new systems and tools
  • Master's degree in operations, Business or Operations Management
