• CGI is seeking to hire a Senior iSeries Developer who can work as a single point of contact for iSeries COBOL application product.
• Engineer must be a highly motivated, well-rounded, self-starter that works best in a collaborative, dynamic, agile environment.
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral are also essential as this position will interface with remote scrum teams, business owners, enterprise architects, security, infrastructure, and end users via email, phone, IM, desktop sharing, and wiki.
• This position can be located in Lafayette, LA (Preferred), Raleigh, NC, Bloomfield, CT or New York City, NY.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Qualities:

• Analytical Skills: Candidate must be able to recognize the needs of customers and create simple solutions that answer those needs.
• Creativity: Creativity is needed to help invent new ways of approaching problems and developing innovative applications as well as bringing experience from other industries.
• Customer-Service: If dealing directly with clients and customers, candidate would need good customer service skills and consultant mentality to answer questions and fix issues.
• Attention to Detail: Applications have many parts, and all must work together for the application to function.
• Technical Skills: Candidate must be adept in computer languages and have strong technical aptitude. Must have a solid knowledge with common design patterns should seek out opportunities to implement design patterns.

Responsibilities:

• Single point of contact of an Application Product.
• Able to write custom code in PL/SQL around an iSeries application product to integrate with enterprise applications and update data
• Flexible and quick to react to Level 3 support and have good decision making skill to prioritize the issues/requests.
• Work collaboratively with Solution Architects and Business Analysts.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• At least minimum 7+ years of relevant working experience in iSeries, SQL skills.
• Candidate should be very familiar with advanced concepts and have relevant, hands-on experience in many of the following areas to be a successful contributor on the team:
• Strong SQL, PL/SQL skills
• Strong on Control Language, COBOL/400, DB2
• Healthcare Experience is MUST
• Maintain, configure Source Code Management (SCM) – ALDON preferably
• Job Scheduling – ROBOT preferably
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in dev, test and production environments
• Creating real-time monitoring, metrics and alerts across all applications
• Participate in production deployment and planning activities.

Preferred to have:

• Power MHS Hands-on Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
