BackSales Operations Manager
@ McIlhenny Company
What this job is all about:
The Sales Operations Manager oversees end-to-end sales operations across international distributor-led markets, supporting a buy-sell model aligned with the company’s Strategic Plan. This role acts as the strategic interface between distributors and internal cross-functional teams—facilitating demand planning, order flow, and customer service for made-to-order products to ensure alignment between market needs and internal capabilities. In addition to managing day-to-day operations, this role directly oversees two regional sales consulting firms and is responsible for driving sales and marketing growth across Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central & South America. A key focus of the role is continuous improvement—optimizing commercial processes such as order management systems, onboarding workflows, and minimum order policies to enhance efficiency and scalability.
In this job, you’ll do things like:
- Act as the primary point of contact for international distributors, managing inquiries, coordinating forecasts, purchase orders, and resolving operational issues in partnership with Regional Sales Consultants.
- Ensure product and documentation compliance by collaborating with distributors’ Regulatory and Product teams on country-specific labeling, packaging, and customs requirements.
- Partner cross-functionally with Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and Quality to support accurate forecasting, product compliance, and seamless order fulfillment and delivery.
- Lead and provide strategic direction to Regional Sales Consulting firms, setting clear KPIs and aligning efforts with market goals and global sales strategies.
- Foster collaboration with Brand Manager partners to ensure cohesive market execution and brand alignment.
- Monitor sales performance and operational KPIs through dashboards and reporting tools; analyze trends and develop strategic recommendations, including but not limited to alternative channel strategies, distribution models, and innovation launches.
- Identify market opportunities and gaps in the role’s territories through distributor and Regional Sales Consultant feedback and performance data, translating insights into actionable commercial strategies.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline distributor operations, order management systems, and onboarding workflows.
- Support system testing and updates to sales operations tools to accommodate new markets, products, or process enhancements.
