Custom metal fabrication company looking for a Quality Inspector with at least 5 years inspection experience. 40 hours per week with overtime as needed. Competitive wage and benefits package with room to grow, based on experience and performance.

Quality Inspectors are responsible for understanding, adhering to, and monitoring LEM’s Quality Management System including management of LEM’s Testing, Measuring, and Monitoring Resources ensuring that product outputs meet customer requirements before product is released. Following documentation as written, Quality Inspectors help maintain workflow efficiency and compliance with customer requirements by completing timely and efficient in-process and final inspections and all necessary reports and certifications. Quality Inspectors report to the Quality Manager.
This position requires an individual to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Comply with all quality system requirements and specifications; and ensure that all production employees and procedures are in compliance
- Comply with all safety system requirements and wear proper PPE and uniforms
- Perform tasks in a safe, responsible, and efficient manner
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow oral instructions to perform necessary processes
- Conduct equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity
- Maintain all assigned or department equipment according to procedures
- Independently read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine compliance to standards; and explain to others as necessary
- Maintain and document all necessary reports and certifications of production throughout the project according to documented procedures
- Maintain correct time keeping throughout project by tracking in project management software
- Use leadership skills to regularly guide individuals or groups within a project and mentor new employees as needed for training purposes regarding compliance with LEM Quality Management System
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Inspect products according to customer specifications and LEM standards according to all documented procedures; exhibiting expert skills and contributing to best practices for all departments
- Independently examine documents and products for both in-process and final inspections; exhibiting leadership skill by teaching others as necessary to choose the correct tools to prepare overall product aesthetics for final inspection, ensuring product outputs meet the specified requirements before product is released
- Assist in other areas of the facility as needed or assigned, including overtime when necessary
Salary Range: $26-$30/hr
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 5 year minimum experience in inspection in manufacturing or other related field
- Knowledge of safety techniques and terminology
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, concepts, and procedures and regularly contributing to best practices for more complex jobs
- Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate leadership skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to read, interpret, evaluate, and respond to procedures, specifications, drawings, and requirements
- Advanced understanding of mathematical principles and knowledge of measurement processes such as length, diameter, and counts
- Read and operate a tape measure and caliper
- Strong attention to detail
- Solid work ethic and pride in workmanship
- Effective verbal, written, and communication skills
- Advanced knowledge of drafting, machining, fabrication, finishing, powder coating, and assembly skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Advanced computer skills and knowledge in the following areas: Microsoft Office, Sage 50, & ISO requirements
