In this job, you’ll do things like:
- Lead a team of quality technicians by example, demonstrating a positive attitude and commitment to excellence. Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and accountability, and ensure the team is aligned with the company mission, vision, and values.
- Lead and develop a team of quality control technicians by providing direction, support, feedback, and mentorship to ensure their success through regular 1:1s, coaching, training, and development. Encourage and recognize team members for their contributions and successes and provide constructive feedback and support when needed.
- Have a strong understanding of Food Science and Food Safety principles to ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), FDA Nutritional Labeling requirements, and FDA Code of Federal Regulations related to food production.
- Identify and address quality issues; recognize defects and system failures and take appropriate corrective actions.
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance on the audit process and daily management of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plans to ensure food safety compliance.
- Collaborate with Director of QA & Tech Services and QA Team for continuous review of Quality Management System documentation, communicate revisions, conduct training, and implement new procedures as needed. Identify and address procedural gaps.
- Initiate, manage, and facilitate projects aimed at enhancing quality, reducing cost, and improving key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, R&D, Sales, and Marketing to provide the technical resources necessary for new product development, ongoing quality support, and compliance for existing products.

Qualifications:
Must-haves to apply for this job:
- B.S. Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related scientific field.
- 2+ years Quality Control experience in a food processing environment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience collating data and drafting reports.
What will give you an edge:
- PCQI certified or HACCP certification.
- Experience, training, or certifications in LEAN or Six Sigma
