What this job is all about:

The Quality Assurance Technician will monitor production operations to ensure compliance with food safety requirements and GMPs. The employee will be responsible for ensuring compliance with pre-operational and routine checks on production lines, Blending and Family of Flavors. This employee will monitor the receiving of raw materials, test samples, review ingredient COAs, and monitor sanitation practices, and will be essential in compiling and analyzing data for Departmental Managers.

 

In this job, you’ll do things like:

  • Monitor processes related to Receiving, Production, and Distribution practices.
  • Conduct inspections and monitor compliance with HACCP Critical Control Points (CCPs).
  • Monitor sanitation data and ensure compliance with required frequencies and procedures.
  • Identify issues and report deviations to management; the ability to notice minute defects or deviations from standard processes is essential for this role.
  • Review, revise and develop Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Audit Elements within the Quality Management System and the SQF Standard.
  • Maintain data in an organized and up-to-date manner.
  • Communicate results of work performed to the QA Manager.
  • Develop training tools to support day and night shift managers with training needs.
  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager during internal and external audits.
  • Monitor work of service providers that fall under any Quality Assurance functions
  • Assist in customer complaints, CAPA investigations and corrective action process
  • Participate in special projects as needed.
  • Support the Quality Control Manager as required.

Qualifications:

Must-haves to apply for this job:

  • B.S. Food Science or Associate degree Food Science with 3+ years of experience in food industry
  • Basic Computer Skills (MS Office)

  • Experience in a food production environment
  • HACCP experience or certification 
  • ServSafe Certificate
