H2O, LLC, is looking for a part-time Purchasing Manager to join our team in Lafayette, Louisiana.   The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing our procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring products meet specifications at the best prices and lead times for H2O’s equipment. Key duties include issuing purchase orders; negotiating prices, terms, and contracts; ensuring timely delivery; managing the availability of quality documents; and qualifying and managing vendors. 

The Purchasing Manager will work 5 days a week with the added benefit of flexible hours.  You will have the freedom to choose your start and end times, enabling you to effectively balance your work and personal life.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Research, evaluate, and onboard new vendors. Conduct regular performance reviews of key vendors to ensure they continue to meet technical, quality, and performance criteria while cultivating strong supplier relationships.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors to achieve cost savings while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all procurement-related inquiries and acts as the lead contact for ISO audits related to procurement compliance. 
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and Operations teams to address vendor capabilities and compliance issues and to set quality control points for all required inspections.
  • Ensure all vendor-supplied components comply with the Purchase Orders and ensure all necessary documentation, including testing reports and certifications, is provided as per the agreements.
  • Maintain and regularly update standard costs for components to support accurate budgeting and financial planning.
  • Conduct cost variance analysis against actual costs for all procured items to enhance forecasting accuracy.
  • Lead the product lifecycle management team in identifying cost-saving options for standard products.
  • Oversee procurement timelines and collaborate with vendors and logistics teams to ensure the timely receipt of ordered materials, resolving any delays that may occur.
  • Communicate with vendors and logistics teams. Track and document all shipments for high-value and critical components.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely inspection and storage of received materials. 
  • Maintain internal RMA logs, Approved Vendor Lists, Replenishment lists, and detailed delivery schedules. 


Qualifications:

  • Proven work experience in purchasing, procurement, or a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and vendor evaluations.
  • Proficiency in using procurement software and tools.
  • Experience with cost modeling, forecasting, and supplier relationship management.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with a proven track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills, analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
