The position ensures alignment between sewer targeting decisions, zoning updates, developer incentive structures, and neighborhood revitalization priorities to support coordinated and equitable redevelopment outcomes. The position is housed within Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Taylor Center and requires regular presence in the field and across partner offices. The role works closely with the Mayor-President’s Office, Lafayette Utilities System, the Community Development and Planning Department, and Coteries to align neighborhood revitalization efforts, resident engagement strategies, and implementation priorities. This is a highly public-facing role, requiring regular engagement with residents, community organizations, developers, and multiple city departments.
Work involves:
- Coordinating agreements with private property owners
- Facilitating neighborhood meetings, aligning departments toward shared milestones
- Ensuring that infrastructure improvements translate into measurable housing and neighborhood outcomes.
Independent judgment is required to manage stakeholder relationships, balance competing priorities, interpret program data, and resolve implementation challenges
Salary Range: $60,000-$68,000
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Community Development, Policy, or related field, and considerable experience in project management within a governmental or community-focused setting.
- Experience working with neighborhood associations, housing initiatives, or infrastructure programs is highly desirable.
