  • Evaluate patients' physical condition and interpret test results, observe their movements and listen to their concerns to diagnose functional and movement issues.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription, outlining clear patient goals and expected outcomes.
  • Implement physical therapy treatment plans using a variety of techniques including exercises, stretching, manual therapy, and therapeutic equipment to manage pain, increase mobility, and prevent further injury.
  • Educate patients and their families about the recovery process, providing instructions on proper in-home exercises and self-management techniques.
  • Evaluate and record patient progress, modify treatment plans and try new treatment as necessary.
  • Assist patients in the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices, observing their progress and recommending adjustments or modifications.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals such as physicians and nurses to ensure coordinated care and optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document patient care services in accordance with regulatory and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to stay abreast of best practices in physical therapy.
  • Supervise and train Physical Therapy Assistants (PTAs) and other support personnel.


Qualifications:

  • Physical Therapy degree from a Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program.
  • Valid Physical Therapy license in good standing, in compliance with state regulations.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, kinesiology, and therapeutic practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individualized treatment plans and adapt them based on patient needs and progress.
  • The ability to manage patients with varying personalities and motivate them towards achieving their goals.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move patients and equipment, and to perform demonstrations of exercises and treatment techniques.
  • Strong analytical and observational skills to diagnose and evaluate patient conditions.
  • Dexterity and manual therapy skills to diagnose and evaluate patient conditions.
  • Attention to detail regarding patient problems and progress documentation.
  • Basic technological proficiency, including familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and staying current with the latest research and evidence-based practices.
