The Pharmacy Services Clerk is responsible for ensuring that Professional Arts Pharmacy (PAP) customers receive the correct prescription in a timely manner, while providing superior customer service. This is an entry-level role focused on basic customer service and administrative tasks, providing foundational support to the pharmacy team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Log sales on cash register, process payments as well as accurately bag prescriptions.
- Ensure prescriptions given to patient are correct with respect to patient using name along with address to confirm.
- Gather and process new customer information accurately to ensure patients experience exceptional customer service.
- Execute rules and regulations related to operational, administrative and professional written procedures and policies of pharmacy services.
- Greet customer in person in a friendly manner and offer to assist them.
- Ensure that waiting patients are taken care of by communicating their needs to other employees, as needed.
- Call customers who have not picked up their filled prescription up until 7-day return.
- Review list of filled prescriptions that have not been picked up after 10 days:
- Maintain knowledge of prescription fulfillment process throughout the pharmacy, restock shelves with over-the-counter products and maintain the cleanliness of the customer area.
- Participate in ongoing training sessions and meetings to further enhance knowledge and skills.
- Develop and maintain basic knowledge or prescriptions and products offered by PAP.
- Stay abreast of new PAP products and services or regulations affecting PAP.
- Answer telephones in a timely manner, direct calls to appropriate personnel and escalate clinical questions to a pharmacist when required.
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks to maintain assigned work areas and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
- Seek opportunities for continuous learning and personal growth to increase credibility with customers. Learn and adhere to pharmacy policies, processes, procedures, regulations and accreditation standards as well as best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of workflow and processes to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction and team engagement.
Salary Range: $15-$16 an hour

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a background check and drug screening. No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant privacy laws.
- Basic computer skills ; prior front desk experience a plus
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to multitask
- Prior experience in customer service, preferably in a pharmacy or healthcare setting
