BackMSSP Vendor Management Consultant
@ CGI
Position Description:
We are seeking a strategic, relationship‑driven Vendor Management Consultant to lead the negotiation, governance, and optimization of our Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) and enterprise partner agreements. This role is ideal for someone who excels at building trusted relationships, driving value through well‑structured agreements, and navigating complex vendor ecosystems. Because vendor engagement in the federal space has unique compliance and operational considerations, prior experience managing vendors within the federal marketplace is highly valuable. While an understanding of purchasing processes is important, this role is centered on relationship and contract management—not on procurement execution.
This position is located in one of CGI Federal's offices in Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Lead negotiations for MSSP agreements, enterprise partner agreements, and other vendor engagements to ensure contractual terms meet business, financial, and compliance objectives.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for key service providers, driving collaboration, accountability, and performance across all engagement levels.
- Develop vendor governance frameworks, including regular performance reviews, scorecards, and issue‑resolution processes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (legal, finance, procurement, technical teams) to align vendor strategies with organizational goals.
- Monitor vendor performance, SLAs, KPIs, and risk indicators to ensure deliverables meet expectations.
- Drive continuous improvement across vendor relationships by identifying opportunities for cost optimization, service enhancements, and innovation.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of purchasing and sourcing processes to ensure agreements align with internal controls and operational requirements.
- Assist in the development and execution of vendor management policies, best practices, and long‑term partnership strategies.
- Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate vendor‑related conferences, partner trainings, certification activities, and enablement programs—particularly those required for achieving or maintaining higher‑tier partnership levels.
- • Support vendor engagement activities specific to the federal landscape, including compliance‑driven requirements, reporting obligations, and partnership structures unique to federal programs.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Proven experience negotiating MSSP agreements, enterprise agreements, or complex service‑based vendor contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage strategic vendor relationships and drive performance outcomes.
- Strong understanding of procurement or purchasing processes and contract structures.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
- Ability to analyze contract terms, identify risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Experience working cross‑functionally with legal, finance, procurement, and technical teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Experience working with vendors or partners in the federal sector or within federal regulatory/compliance frameworks.
Desired qualifications:
- Prior experience in Vendor Management, Supplier Relationship Management, or Contract Management in a consulting or enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of MSSP business models, pricing structures, and service‑delivery frameworks.
- Experience with vendor governance or performance‑management programs.
- Experience coordinating vendor certifications, especially with MSSPs, security product vendors, or federal cybersecurity programs.
