Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Experienced Machinist-Specials to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, programming, and operating complex CNC machinery to produce precision components and assemblies. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and technical troubleshooting will ensure the highest quality standards are met while maintaining efficient production workflows. This is a full time hourly non-exempt position and may be initially processed through a Temp Service on a Temp to Hire basis. 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed with possible weekend work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILIES:

  • Perform set up and operation of CNC machinery (lathe and/or mill) in order to prepare metallic and non-metallic parts required in the production of products offered to MSM customers and other clients.
  • Setup and tool up independantly on a per job basis without supervision based on prints and material selection.
  • Create programs / Read and modify G-Code Review blueprints, drawings, specifications or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of part/product, sequence of operations and/or set up requirements.
  • Measure, mark and otherwise indicate the dimensions and reference points on the part or material to be used as guides for subsequent machining.
  • Select, align and secure the holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials on machines to include mills, lathes and grinders.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate various machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow and depth and angle of cut.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.
  • Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.
  • Responsible for performing dimensional inspections on in-process parts.
  • Confer with production personnel, supervisor or others to resolve machining or assembly issues.
  • Perform daily maintenance duties and/or notify supervisor of any equipment-related issues that may require attention.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area.

Salary Range: $22 to $30 DOE

EDUCATON AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5 plus years of machining experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Forklift

  • Tape measures
  • Mills or Lathes

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in an environment where the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions , working around moving mechanical parts .
