As a financial specialist, you ensure patients understand insurance benefits and eligibility. You accurately document patient financial details, obtain necessary authorizations, and communicate effectively with both patients and branch locations. Your role involves managing tasks efficiently, resolving patient inquiries promptly, and negotiating rates to provide the best possible service.

Responsibilities:

• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits of prospects/ referrals and determines LHC rate requirements as it relates to in or out of network coverage on a daily basis in an accurate and timely manner.
• Communicates patient benefits in a timely manner using the appropriate legacy system and associated software application as found in patient notes, tasks, workflow, email and or phone calls with our agencies.
• Documents and forwards patient deductible, out-of-pocket expense, life time maximum, home health or hospice days, and patient responsibility to agency in an accurate and timely manner.
• Reviews and replies to branch location’s urgent requests in a timely and accurate manner.
• Initiates one time letters of agreement (LOAs) and negotiates rates as dictated by established policies and procedures in a timely manner.
• Obtains all authorization as needed from payer for services ordered/requested in a timely manner.
• Serves as a liaison between the branch location and the payer  
• Resolves all customer requests, inquiries, and concerns in an expedient and respectful manner

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.

Qualifications:

Required Qualification:

• 1+ years of experience with insurance verification and authorization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Revenue cycle experience  
• Basic PC skills including PC based applications (MS Word, Excel)
• Proven excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven excellent organizational and analytical skills
• Proven mathematical aptitude
• Proven detail Oriented
