Drive the success of our Tools Division by delivering hands-on engineering expertise that keeps our operations running at peak performance. In this role, you’ll be at the center of both shop and field activity, partnering with technicians, supporting job planning, solving real-time challenges, and elevating the quality of every deployment. From troubleshooting and failure analysis to developing smarter, safer processes, you’ll play a key role in shaping how our tools perform in the field and how our teams deliver for customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Uses engineering principles & problem solving to troubleshoot job issues in the assembly shop and field locations for the Tools division.
- Lead job failure investigations on non-conformances in the assembly shop and field locations, including:
- Investigation team leadero Root cause analysis
- Investigative testing
- Corrective Action Implementation
- Internal and Customer Reporting·
- Work with the operations team, supply chain, sales, and customers in the planning of downhole completion equipment jobs.
- Supports the assembly shop in preparing of downhole completion equipment.
- Assist with and/or perform the installation of downhole completion equipment on job sites. This is primarily offshore in the GoA but can include land and international job sites.
- Provide shop and/or on-site engineering support for larger complex completion jobs.
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for Tool’s Division Assembly and Field Operations.
- Works with Operations to plan, establish, and maintain product and service quality objectives for the district, consistent with Customer and Corporate goals and objectives.
- Maintain liaison between the district assembly and field personnel on new product launches and coordinate with new and ongoing tool development.
- Assists in training shop and field employees in the function and assembly of equipment. Review Technology Group job releases for accuracy and application.
- Perform or assist with tool testing for customers for job issues and new designs.
- Conduct job quality and safety inspections.
- Supervise the training of Associate Engineers.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in engineering, oil and gas industry, or related experience.
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong problem-solving
- Engineering math
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Technical Writing and Presenting
- Current practices and technology used in the oil and gas industry are preferred
- Knowledge of Downhole Hydraulics and Mechanical Applications preferred
- Basic understanding of downhole sand control completion principles and techniques preferred
- Knowledge of current practices, equipment, & materials used in the completion tools business preferred
- CAD drawing capabilities preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting - for extended periods without being able to leave the work area.

- Climbing - ladders, scaffolding, work in overhead areas, etc.
- Lifting - Up to 70 Lbs. minimum & on an occasional basis.
- Grasping - regularly picks up objects with fingers.
- Reaching - regularly required to use hands and arms to reach objects.
- Color Determination – requires color determination (no color blindness)
- Speaking - requires expressing ideas through the spoken word.
- Listening - requires the perception of speech or the nature of sounds in the air.
