Stuller, Inc. seeks Director of Tax Strategies & Compliance in Lafayette, LA.
Duties:
- Responsible for all tax matters, leading efforts to identify, plan, develop and execute strategic tax initiatives and oversee day-to-day business operations to benefit the Company's financial results.
- Create strong processes to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all tax reporting and filings to ensure compliance with domestic and limited international tax requirements. Report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, join forces with the Finance and Operations Teams to develop and guide tax processes, which are instrumental in the Company's overall financial management strategy and success.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders as well as executive leaders and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, high growth environment.
- Manage all tax matters of the Company, including strategy, planning and compliance. Prepare all federal, state and international tax work papers and work with outside consultants to oversee the preparation and filing of these returns.
- Prepare and file state and local sales tax and Canadian VAT returns.
- Represent the Company in all tax inquiries and audits by third parties.
- Identify, analyze, and communicate complex tax issues and their impact on the Company and its operations to key stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a robust tax team to support business operations and strategic initiatives.
- Work with various functional teams to identify and assess tax opportunities and proactively address tax exposures through the design of processes and procedures.
- Stay current on new tax laws, rulings, and cases affecting individuals and entities.
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, Economics or related field of study plus 7 years of experience as a Tax Manager, Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Senior Associate, Tax Advisor, Tax Consultant, Corporate Accountant, or related occupations.
- Requires 7 years of experience in the following:
- Tax strategy, planning, and compliance across federal, state, and international jurisdictions;
- Advising regarding or financial reporting and tax return preparation for corporations and partnerships;
- Tax research and analysis; ability to interpret complex tax laws and regulations.
- Requires 5 years of experience in the following:
- Multi-state sales/ use tax and VAT compliance;
- Process improvement and internal control development for tax functions;
- Technician proficiency with tax/accounting software:
- QuickBooks or Oracle and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Requires 3 years of experience in the following: Leadership and management of tax or finance teams.
- Requires CPA License.
