Position Description:

As a Data Engineer, you'll design and optimize data pipelines that integrate legacy systems with modern platforms, enabling advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions. This position is located in our Lafayette, Louisiana office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Due to the nature of government contracts, US citizenship or Permanent Residence with is required.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data integration. 
  • Optimize data workflows using tools like Apache Airflow, Spark, Kafka, and Databricks. 
  • Develop solutions for structured and unstructured data across data lakes and warehouses. 
  • Collaborate with application and AI teams to ensure seamless data flow for APIs and ML models. 
  • Implement data quality checks, versioning, and governance standards. 
  • Support CI/CD processes for data engineering and ensure compliance with security and privacy requirements. 
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance for high-volume data processing.

Salary Range: $63,700.00 - $156,700.00


Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Experience: 3–5+ years in data engineering or backend data systems. 

Technical Skills: 

  • ETL/ELT pipeline development using Airflow, Spark, dbt, Kafka, or similar tools.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or Scala).
  • Experience with data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and data lakes (Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). 
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, versioning, and orchestration.

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

  • Experience with real-time data processing and streaming architectures. 
  • Knowledge of data governance, cataloging, and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). 
  • Exposure to MLOps or integration with AI/ML pipelines. 
  • Background in performance optimization and cost-efficient cloud data solutions. 
  • Experience in large-scale modernization projects in government or regulated environments.
