The Customer Finance Manager is responsible for leading the Customer Finance team to support company sales growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction while effectively managing credit risk and financial exposure.
This role partners cross-functionally with internal teams and external agencies to drive sound credit decisions, optimize collections strategies, and represent the company’s credit position within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of the Customer Finance Department, ensuring alignment with company sales objectives, profitability targets, and risk tolerance.
Analyze and resolve complex issues related to customers, credit limits, account discrepancies, and personnel performance.
Support the Director in departmental operations, including annual budgeting, payroll and credit-related initiatives.
Manage staffing, scheduling, workload prioritization, and performance standards to ensure operational efficiency and service excellence.
Oversee the investigation, approval, and onboarding of new customers, including credit evaluations and exposure assessments.
Establish and execute strategies for credit extensions, ongoing risk monitoring, and collection of outstanding and delinquent accounts.
Assume advanced responsibilities within Oracle Accounts Receivable and Order Management modules, supporting credit and collections activities.
Analyze customer data, aging trends, exposure levels, and performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
Prepare and deliver presentations to leadership and internal stakeholders using clear storytelling to highlight customer challenges, successes, risk considerations, and growth
Work with external agencies related to collections, credit reporting, and compliance.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit, customer finance, or a related financial role.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data interpretation skills.
Proficiency with financial systems (Oracle strongly preferred).
Strong communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to varying audiences.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence outcomes.
Ability to balance risk management with a growth-oriented, customer-focused mindset.
Previous management or supervisory experience.
Strong presentation skills, including the ability to tell a compelling story using data and insights.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
Experience working with external agencies and navigating industry credit practices.
Advanced proficiency in Oracle Accounts Receivable and Order Management modules.
