What this job is all about:
- The Corporate Accountant is a critical role on our accounting and finance team and is responsible for proper recording of financial transactions, reconciling and analyzing account data to ensure accuracy, assisting with performing financial analysis on selected business scenarios, participating in financial budgeting and planning process, and contributing to the annual audit.
In this job, you’ll do things like:
- Participate in monthly close process
- Perform account analysis and reconciliations within general ledger accounts ensuring that all accounts are accurate
- Provides meaningful support and input to the corporate planning, budgeting and forecasting process
- Provides meaningful support and input to the annual audit; prepare workpapers and analytical data
- Cross-train in order to provide support and enhance knowledge of other areas of the Accounting department; back up other functions as needed
- Ensure that all property tax returns, sales tax returns, VAT tax returns, 1099s, unclaimed property reporting, etc. are compliant and filed timely
- Prepare annual business returns and business license applications to ensure compliance
- Identify ways to improve workflows and transaction processes by using technology; make decisions to improve efficiency
- Maintain Concur T&E applications, report processing and accruals
- Maintain Corporate credit card programs
- Maintain Retail location database
- Manage/reconcile capital projects and related Oracle Fixed Assets database; process monthly depreciation expense transactions
- Perform financial analysis projects as assigned, including performing research into business issues, data analysis, summarizing and formatting information into meaningful reports with conclusions and recommendations; makes decisions on changes in processes as needed
- Ensure invoices are coded and approved properly
- Assists Corporate Controller, CFO and other Accounting/Finance Managers, as needed

Qualifications:
Must-haves to apply for this job:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Knowledge of automated accounting systems
What will give you an edge:
- 2+ years’ experience in public accounting or industry
- Knowledge of Oracle or other midrange software system
