@ Lafayette Convention & Visitors Commission

Content Development & Digital Marketing

  • Assist in creating and updating content for LafayetteWeekly.com, including live music, festivals, and community events
  • Support development of content for weekly and monthly newsletters
  • Assist with website updates and blog content as needed

Media Relations

  • Assist with preparation for visiting media, travel writers, and journalists
  • Support coordination of media itineraries and hosting logistics
  • Help maintain media contact lists and coverage tracking

Administrative & General Support

  • Assist with data entry and project coordination across communications initiatives
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in department planning sessions
  • Assist with all other communications-related duties as assigned

Salary Range: $10-$15/Hour


Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in tourism, hospitality, or destination marketing
  • Core competencies should include Organization, Time Management, Creativity, Written Communication, Initiative, and Adaptability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with digital databases
