The Casting Metal Tree Technician role is an entry into the largest gold and silver casting operation in North America.
You'll use a hydraulic clipping machine to cut gold jewelry castings and rotate through various tasks during your shift. Success requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, quick learning, and teamwork in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Clipping Area:
Operate a hydraulic clipping machine to remove cast jewelry parts from metal trees
Use pneumatic and hand clippers, as well as separating disc machines, to remove excess sprue without damaging or distorting pieces
Evaluate and select appropriate tools to ensure clean, flush cuts
Visually assess and sort pieces by size and series during removal
Tumbling Area:
Inspect for defects and determine whether parts need to be re-cast prior to magnetic tumbling
Identify which parts require magnetic tumbling and adjust duration accordingly
Properly angle trees to brighten recessed areas within the designated time
Perform quality checks post-magging before proceeding to tumbling
Operate and maintain magnetic tumblers, including cleaning and refreshing soap/water
Recognize parts by mountings/findings/tops to apply correct timing for different components

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to handle and work with small, delicate pieces
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow detailed instructions and multitask
Capable of standing for an entire 8-hour shift
Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with hand tools or machinery in a manufacturing or production environment
Familiarity with jewelry casting or similar precision work
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting
