The Enterprise Analytics team transforms data from customer interactions, product performance, sales trends, marketing effectiveness, and production efficiency into clear insights, giving every business function a detailed view of its results and the factors that drive them.
The Business Analyst Intern supports cross-functional reporting and analytics initiatives within Enterprise Analytics. This role provides hands-on experience working with data, reports, and analytical tools that drive informed decision-making across the organization. Partnering with experienced Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Developers, and reporting to the Executive Director of Enterprise Analytics, the intern will contribute to data preparation and validation, dashboard development, and analysis that helps translate data into actionable business insights.
This internship is designed as a developmental step toward a Business Analyst career path, building foundational skills through meaningful project experience, mentorship, and hands-on learning in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, with the opportunity to grow into broader analytical responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and maintenance of Strategy business intelligence reporting solutions and dashboards, including SQL based data model development, to improve visibility and efficiency, track key performance indicators, and extract actionable insights.
- Create visually compelling data visualizations and presentations to communicate analytical findings to stakeholders at all levels, fostering a data-driven culture within the organization.
- Establish subject matter expertise on data analysis tools and reporting platforms to support end-users with self-service analytics capabilities.
- Work collaboratively across teams to assess data and reporting needs, facilitate requirements gathering sessions, translate stakeholder requirements into clear technical specifications, and develop enterprise-wide solutions that align with business objectives.
- Acquire, prepare, and validate data through the Snowflake data platform, addressing reporting and data integrity in partnership with relevant teams to ensure quality analysis and end-user trust.
- Pursue development in using advanced analytical techniques, including predictive modeling and regression forecasting to analyze business trends, seasonal patterns, and optimize data for decision support.
- Document project requirements, analysis methodologies, and data insights to ensure transparency, reproducibility, and effective knowledge sharing, while utilizing Jira for project management to organize tasks and efficiently allocate resources.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of company operations, data architecture, and the jewelry industry to align analysis with business strategy and advise stakeholders on emerging trends and opportunities.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Business, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
- In lieu of a degree, at least two years of experience in reporting, analytics, or business intelligence roles.
- Basic SQL querying and data model manipulation experience (e.g., Snowflake, Oracle) with an understanding of database concepts and data preparation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering complete project context and insights.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, keep stakeholders informed with timely updates, and adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Natural curiosity and a strong analytical mindset with demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Detail oriented and focused on data accuracy in preparing and validating datasets, ensuring high-quality and trust in reporting and analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience with business intelligence tools, and advanced proficiency in Excel.
- Professional experience in data analysis or business intelligence, with a track record of progressive learning and responsibility in the field.
- Specializations or certifications in data analytics, statistics, business intelligence, project management, and other relevant technical areas.
- Experience with Python, R, or modern analytics platforms for basic data analysis, visualization, or forecasting tasks, including familiarity with descriptive statistics, trend analysis, or simple predictive modeling.
- This opportunity is a project-based internship with a flexible start date and is not part of the formal summer internship program.
- This position requires candidates to have unrestricted work authorization in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship, either currently or in the future.
