AcadianaCares is currently seeking a Bi-lingual (Spanish Speaking) Nurse Practitioner (Lafayette, LA):

Position Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner is an independent health care provider responsible for providing comprehensive patient care and other administrative duties as designated by the Clinical Director and in accordance with the Louisiana Nursing Practice Act and other applicable codes and standards.

In addition to providing direct medical care, the Nurse Practitioner will educate patients and/or their families in order to promote wellness, prevent health problems, maintain current health, and intervene in acute or chronic illness. 

The Nurse Practitioner will seek opportunities for professional growth through participation in continuing education, staff development, and employee committees.

Qualifications:

• Masters of Science degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner clinical track. Two years of related clinical nursing experience is required. 
• Must maintain a Collaborative Practice Agreement with a qualified physician within the practice scope of this position. 
• Must have working knowledge of the principles and practice of preventative medicine, as well as knowledge of state and federal laws pertaining to serving as an APRN at a community health center. 
• Ability to communicate, establish, and maintain effective working relationships with patients and their families, staff, and the general public.
• Prior experience working in an HIV service, HIV prevention, healthcare, mental health, or substance abuse rehabilitation program preferred. 
• Ability to work with people of diverse lifestyles required. 
• Bi-Lingual (Spanish Speaking)
• • Must possess a valid license from the State of Louisiana for Advance Practice Nursing (APRN).
