Position Description:

At CGI Federal's Federal Solutions Group (FSG), we are looking for AWS Cloud Engineers to join our Cloud Center of Excellence and Managed Service Provider (MSP) practice, where you will design, build, deploy, and operate AWS environments for federal clients across the full project lifecycle. You will also develop serverless applications, governance tooling, and reusable automation using services that scale across AWS accounts and Organizations.

This position is located in our Fairfax, VA, Knoxville, TN, or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Build and implement repeatable architectures and scalable solutions leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines.  Create and maintain CGI Federal (CGIF) cloud native governance and security solutions that can scale across AWS accounts / Orgs and integrate with third Party SaaS, Azure and CGP services
  • Design and implement secure solutions and architectures for cloud, multi-cloud, and hybrid environments to support clients, delivery teams, and CGIF's Cloud Broker Office (CBO) and MSP practice. Contribute to the operational tooling, runbooks, and automation that underpin managed services delivery across client accounts.
  • Document all configuration, management and optimization changes to the cloud environment
  • Implement and operate cloud governance at enterprise scale, including account vending, policy enforcement, guardrails, cost controls, build, deployment, and monitoring standards for federal clients.
  • Support delivery for federal clients for AWS deployments, migrations, operations and maintenance activities of cloud native solutions and CGIF IP.


Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 5+ years of experience with AWS Cloud
  • US Citizenship is required for this role, sponsorship is not authorized
  • Bachelor level technical degree or equivalent experience; Computer Science or Engineering background preferred
  • Ability to convert requirements, documentation and diagrams into deployable templates and code to execute the Cloud Architect's vision of the solution 
  • AWS certification - Minium of one associate level or higher AWS certification- AWS Certified Developer – Associate, AWS Certified SysOp Administrator - Associate or AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate 
  • AWS Security and Management Services (Certificate Manager, Control Tower, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, Config, GuardDuty, KMS, Landing Zone, IAM, Security Hub, Secrets Manager)
  • Experience deploying and maintaining solutions built on AWS IaaS (Infrastructure as a service), PaaS (Platform as a service), and SaaS (Software as a service) offerings
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language (C#, Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) or shell scripting language (POSIX shell/Bash, PowerShell, etc.) Python is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Git for source code version control and orchestration deployment using CI/CD pipelines 
  • Needs to have the ability to develop and contribute while working seamlessly in a distributed team via collaboration tools in a hybrid work environment.
  • Understanding of Agile and DevOps methods and mindset
  • Using Infrastructure as Code (AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, Pulumi, Terraform) to deploy resources

Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

  • Additional AWS certifications (AWS Certified Solution Architect - Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Specialty certifications) and Security Certifications (CISSP, CEH, GIAC) 
  • Developing Serverless applications leveraging AWS services (DynamoDB, Event Bridge, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, Step Functions)
  • Experience in supporting container-based applications, microservices patterns and APIs in AWS (Docker, AWS ECS, AWS ECR, AWS Fargate, AWS EKS, Kubernetes, OpenShift)
  • Experience building multi-tenant management platforms or MSP tooling that operates across AWS accounts at scale
  • Interest in leveraging AWS AI/ML services (Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, Strands Agent, SageMaker) for AI solutions and data analytics (Athena, Glue, QuickSight) to enhance governance dashboards, anomaly detection, or operational insights 
  • Knowledge of at least one of federal compliance standards (CMMC, DoD SRG, DoD STIGs, FedRAMP and NIST) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking patterns and services, such as load balancing, overlay networking, VPN and multi-datacenter networking
  • Knowledge with Configuration as Code tools/services (Puppet, Ansible or AWS SSM) for orchestration of EC2 OS level configuration and compliance
  • Knowledge of FinOps practices and AWS cost management tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, Cost & Usage Reports) for MSP cost allocation and chargeback
