Role Overview

  • Program, set up, and run Haas mills/lathes; optimize toolpaths (G-code/CAM) for cycle time, finish, and tool life.
  • Read/interpret complex drawings and models; verify with precision metrology and CNC inspection tools.
  • Drive productivity at the machine: reduce setup time, stabilize cycle times, minimize scrap/rework.
  • Collaborate with the team on scheduling, tooling strategy, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and/or edit CNC programs (G-code and CAM) for small-batch/custom parts.
  • Perform efficient setups, including workholding/fixtures, tool selection, and offsets.
  • Execute in-process checks; maintain first‑pass yield and dimensional accuracy.
  • Document setups (tool lists, offsets, probing routines) for repeatability.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, clean work area.

Schedule & Work Environment

Hours: Mon–Thu 7:00 AM–4:00 PM; Fri 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (day shift).

Environment: Modern, clean, air‑conditioned shop with new Haas CNC machines and GibbsCAM.

Salary Range: $28–$35 per hour based on experience


Qualifications:

Requirements

  • CNC machining experience on mills (lathe experience a plus).
  • Ability to program/edit (G-code) and familiarity with CAM (GibbsCAM or similar).
  • Fluent blueprint/GD&T interpretation and practical metrology skills.
  • Proven track record running small-batch, tight‑tolerance work efficiently.
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and reliability.
  • Mentoring/training others is welcome but not required.
