Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately review, code, and process invoices and payment requests related to Public Housing activities.
  • Ensure timely payments to vendors in accordance with agency procedures and HUD requirements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date AP files and documentation for audits and reporting.
  • Collaborate with property management staff to verify goods/services received and confirm authorization for payment.
  •  Assist with monthly and year-end closings by preparing reports and summaries related to PH accounts payable.
  • Monitor and track expenditures to ensure budget compliance.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Perform other finance-related tasks as assigned to support Public Housing operations.


Qualifications:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting; experience in public or subsidized housing preferred.
  • Knowledge of HUD regulations, public housing financial procedures, and federal grant compliance is a plus.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, Emphasys, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
