Position Description:
CGI is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to support enterprise mortgage technology applications focused on loan delivery and loan acquisition. This role will be responsible for validating complex business processes, data integrations, APIs, and end to end workflows supporting the mortgage loan lifecycle.
The successful candidate will combine hands on software testing experience with strong test automation, API, and backend data validation skills. The role works closely with product owners, business analysts, developers, and quality engineering teams in an Agile environment to ensure reliable delivery of business critical applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include developing and executing functional, integration, regression, end to end, and user acceptance tests; maintaining automated regression suites using Selenium and Playwright; testing REST APIs; performing backend validation and data reconciliation using Oracle SQL; and validating XML based mortgage data exchanged between integrated systems.
The position will also support continuous testing through CI/CD pipelines and contribute to improvements in test coverage, quality processes, and release readiness. Experience with mortgage lending, particularly loan delivery, loan acquisition, eligibility, or secondary mortgage market processes, is strongly preferred. Familiarity with cloud based applications, including AWS environments, is beneficial.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- 5+ years of software quality assurance and testing experience with enterprise, business critical applications.
- Strong hands on test automation experience using Selenium and/or Playwright, including maintaining reusable automated regression suites.
- Programming or scripting experience with Java and/or Python for test automation.
- Experience with BDD/Gherkin and modern automated testing practices.
- Strong REST API testing experience across integrated applications and services.
- Advanced Oracle SQL skills for backend testing, data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience validating XML files, schemas, and complex data exchanges between systems.
- Hands on experience with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines, including incorporating automated tests into continuous delivery workflows.
- Experience performing functional, integration, system, regression, end to end, and UAT testing.
- Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum, and quality engineering practices.
- Experience analyzing business and technical requirements to determine test scope, dependencies, risks, and coverage.
- Mortgage industry experience involving loan origination, underwriting, loan delivery, loan acquisition, eligibility, or secondary mortgage market processes is strongly preferred.
- Experience validating mortgage loan data and business rules; familiarity with MISMO standards is a plus.
- Familiarity with AWS/cloud based application environments and testing distributed or integrated services.
- Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, IntelliJ IDEA, GitLab, and AI assisted development/testing tools.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
Educational Requirements:
