Duties

  • Communicating with patients and scheduling patient appointments as well as confirming future appointments and phone confirmation of next day evals.
  • Communicate visit cost to patients and explain as needed patient benefits.
  • Collect patient payments and pull visit totals and batch collections at end of the day.
  • Communicating with rehabilitation staff and therapist as needed to clarify referral requests and scheduling needs.
  • Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information and pull in-take packets for following day.
  • Scan documents into EMR as needed.
  • Assists Rehabilitation Front Office Supervisor in special projects.
  • Answer incoming Rehabilitation Department phone calls and check faxes.
  • Assist in maintaining goals for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, and treatment compliance through service to patient needs and request in the capacity of the position.
  • Manage patient cancelations per department protocol including scheduling from wait list.
  • Assist in creating new patient charts.
  • Confirm DME proof of delivery and ABN documents.
  • Schedule progress notes due.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality.
  • The job holder must demonstrate current competencies for job position.

Salary Range: $12-$16 hourly


Qualifications:

EDUCATION:

    • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

    • One year of experience in out-patient rehabilitation preferred. 

KNOWLEDGE:

    • Knowledge of computer systems and EMR software.
    • Knowledge of phone systems.
    • Knowledge of rehabilitation terminology and insurance/payor rules and regulations.
    • Knowledge of referral processes and patient eligibility

SKILLS:

    • Skill in effectively communicating with patients and staff.
    • Skill in using a computer system/EMR.
    • Skill in accurate documentation of work.

ABILITIES:

    • Ability to establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers and staff.
    • Ability to communicate clearly in verbal and written form.
    • Ability to be a resource to patients and staff.
