Position Description:

  • We are seeking a talented Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our Emerging Technologies Research and Development team.
  • As a Modeling and Simulation Engineer, you will be responsible for developing advanced mathematical models and conducting virtual simulations for cutting-edge technologies.
  • Your work will contribute to the exploration of emerging technologies, performance analysis, optimization, and validation of innovative system design for federal government clients.
  • Due to the nature of this government contract, US Citizenship is required.


Your future duties and responsibilities:

  • Develop and refine mathematical models for emerging systems:
  • Create sophisticated mathematical representations of novel system architectures, devices, and protocols.
  • Define system parameters and performance metrics tailored to the research and development of emerging technologies.
  • Conduct simulations of next-generation systems:
  • Utilize state-of-the-art simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and advanced simulators to simulate complex environments.
  • Analyze simulation outcomes to evaluate the performance of novel system designs and identify opportunities for optimization.
  • Perform in-depth performance analysis and optimization:
  • Evaluate key performance indicators specific to emerging technologies through simulation results.
  • Collaborate with research teams to optimize system configurations, algorithms, and protocols based on simulation insights.
  • Validate simulation results through experimental validation:
  • Validate the accuracy of simulation models by comparing results with experimental data and real-world testing.
  • Iterate on simulation models based on validation feedback to ensure their applicability to real-world scenarios.
  • Stay at the forefront of modeling and simulation research:
  • Stay informed about the latest advancements in modeling and simulation techniques for emerging technologies.
  • Explore innovative tools, methodologies, and research directions to enhance the capabilities and impact of modeling and simulation in the context of emerging technologies.


Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field with a focus on emerging technologies and 8+ years of experience
  • Demonstrable proficiency in advanced modeling and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and network simulators tailored to emerging technologies.
  • Experience in developing mathematical models for cutting-edge wireless communication systems, IoT devices, or related fields.
  • Strong analytical skills and a research-oriented mindset to interpret simulation results and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively within a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Knowledge of emerging wireless communication protocols, network architectures, and performance metrics.


Desired qualifications/non-essential skills required:

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field with a focus on emerging technologies.
  • Strategic Vision & Thought Leadership: A demonstrated ability to think strategically, anticipate future trends in AI/ML, Data science & modeling and simulation technologies, and translate them into POCs.
  • Effective Client Relationship Management: Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships, effectively communicating technical concepts and project progress, and managing expectations.
  • Technical Expertise : While the primary focus shifts to leadership, a continued high comfort level with core Modeling and Simulation technologies is desirable. This allows you to stay connected to the technical aspects of the team's work and provide effective guidance.
  • Emerging Technology Exploration: A strong interest in exploring and evaluating new technologies relevant to the field, such as advanced data engineering tools, cutting-edge AI/ML algorithms, and next-generation simulation platforms.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java is preferred.
