Position Overview:

  • Review receiving or shipping notices and requests for movement of raw materials and finished products to determine that documents are complete and to prepare for scheduling.
  • Compile data from sources such as contracts, sales orders, purchase orders, bills of materials (BOM’s), requisitions and accounting reports.
  • Verify or prepare records such as routing slips, material requisitions and job orders.
  • Compile stock control records and information such as cycle counting, characteristics of items in storage.
  • Compare nomenclature, stock numbers, authorized substitutes and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, bids, bills of materials and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
  • Review files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of stock.
  • Verify labor and materials issued and completed work orders for sales orders before sending to accounting.
  • Verify after completion of work orders that company made reasonable profit on sales order.
  • Advise Sales Manager if material was under quoted.
  • Verify materials issued/scanned every 2 hours in work order program and scan to software to remove items from inventory.
  • Compile inspectors time and enter into work program. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Keep desk and work area clean and orderly.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.


Work Environment:

  • This job typically operates in a professional office environment.
  • On occasion, this job operates in an environment where the employee may be exposed to wet or humid conditions, outdoor weather conditions, working around moving mechanical parts, and working in and around equipment that could pose the risk of electrical shock.
