The Urban Planner Student Intern will provide support in the development of master plans in South Louisiana.
Support services will entail developing maps and graphics, as well as providing thoughtful critique of the master plans.
Through the course of the internship, the Urban Planner Student Intern will have the opportunity to collect data and feedback at public meetings, collect and prepare data for community outreach, and research funding sources for municipalities.
The Urban Planner Student Intern will be a champion and leader of our company core values, while maintaining internal and external customer engagement and satisfaction.
Some responsibilities include:
Developing Flood Resilience Analyses
Analysis of plans and ordinances
Investigating the overlapping of land use decisions with social vulnerability
Collaborating with GIS members to support in the visualization of flood resilience and
Currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning or related field
Basic understanding of planning principles with knowledge relating to land use
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, GIS, and Adobe Photoshop
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to excel in individual and team environments
