Job Description:

  • This position is an intermediate configuration & data manager with practical knowledge of job area.
  • Works under moderate supervision to set objectives for own job area.
  • Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures.
  • Identifies and addresses changes within own job area.
  • Works to achieve operational targets with some impact on departmental results.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates with customers and various stakeholders to create, review, and respond to Class I and Class II level changes; analyzes proposed product design changes to determine the effect on the overall system
  • Designs and establishes configuration management documentation
  • Coordinates the archiving and retrieval of program documentation and data
  • Prepares documentation in support of Configuration Management Boards (CCB), attending CCBs, and providing input to the meetings as required
  • Performs Contract Deliverable (CDRL) management; ensuring quality and configuration management of all CDRLs, preparing submission documentation/letters, receiving, communicating CDRL comments/responses and working with project teams to adjudicate those responses, and performing CDRL status reporting
  • Documents configuration management support for Integrated Product Teams, including document control
  • Acts as liaison between management and other functional groups to resolve issues regarding configuration analysis documentation
  • Performs audits to verify compliance with contract requirements



  • Bachelor’s Degree (in a technical field preferred) with minimum of 2 years of related experience; or Associates Degree with minimum of 6 years of experience. Or, Graduate Degree and a minimum of 0-2 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience in Configuration Management, Engineering Management, Project Management, Operations Research or Financial/Cost Analysis for Government customers
  • Experience with drafting and owning customer deliverables (CDRLs, DIDs, etc.)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance
  • Active secret security clearance
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation)
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
  • Knowledge of DoD/Navy Command structure, missions, and programs,
  • Former shipyard Program Management, Documentations Management or Engineering Management experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
