Job Description

  • SchoolMint is actively searching for a Sales Engineer (SE).
  • The SE’s primary goal is to help support the Schoolmint Sales team to increase partnerships across the country.
  • The Sales Engineer’s responsibilities will include managing demo environments, performing demonstrations for key clients, performing consultative selling to both instruct and discover customer needs, and support account executives with technical responses and deal scoping.
  • The SE will be a compelling, articulate advocate of the value that SchoolMint products provide to schools and families.
  • The SE is a high-energy, self-motivated individual with exceptional communication and creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to present technical information to both non-technical and technical audiences.
  • The Sales Engineer is comfortable working in a fluid environment, is a team player, and has a strong desire to continually learn and improve.
  • To be successful, the role requires self-reliance, solid technical background, analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and good business sense.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and maintain winning product presentations and highly effective demo flows
  • Create and maintain all aspects of sales demo environments
  • Site configuration based on sales audience
  • Demo datasets 
  • Site documentation
  • Lead technical presentations and discovery discussions with potential customers to identify and address needs
  • Lead pre-sales scoping calls and follow on customer-facing document generation 
  • Share demo resources with Account Executives via documentation & training
  • Support sales training/enablement as a demo coach / certification evaluator
  • Consult with customers regarding business requirements and potential customizations
  • Support the documentation of customer handoff process for new customer implementations 
  • Support the RFP process by reviewing and crafting responses to technical and/or complex customer requirements.
  • Serve as the technical sales resource for questions regarding your products


About You:

  • You have worked in K-12 education before and have an understanding of administrative processes, structure, and parent facing interactions with schools manage on a daily and yearly basis
  • You have 3+ years of experience selling or supporting/servicing enterprise wide SaaS based system such as SIS/SRS, LMS, or CRM
  • You have strong technical acumen, and experience that may include any number of the following areas:
  • Experience with SaaS deployments; Database administration; Understanding of APIs, web-hooks, and general file transfer protocols; Understanding of enterprise integration methodologies, best practices and API; Object oriented development experience; Exposure to Amazon AWS, Cloud Technologies; Exposure to Big Data technologies; or Understanding of enterprise integration methodologies, best practices and API architecture (i.e. REST APIs and SAML & OAuth based SSO)
  • You are a great storyteller with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Results-oriented and and able to drive projects through to completion
  • You have the organizational skills to balance and prioritize a high volume of tasks and objectives on a daily basis
  • You are proactive and self-reliant, and at the same time have a “team first” mentality
  • You are organized, detail-oriented, and understand the need to track everything you do
  • You can pick up the phone and talk to anyone, about anything, at anytime
  • You are willing to travel multiple times per month if necessary
  • You like to have fun at work!
