MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Complete detailed risk assessments prioritizing key risks and controls.
• Prepare audit engagement work programs.
• Apply appropriate sampling techniques.
• Evaluate the relevance, sufficiency, and reliability of potential audit evidence.
• Perform process walkthroughs to review the suitability of internal control design.
• Conduct audit testing to determine operating effectiveness of internal controls.
• Determine compliance with bank policies and procedures.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement.
• Draft comprehensive audit reports describing findings and recommendations.
• Evaluate technology application controls for effectiveness.
• Maintain knowledge of International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing.
• Maintain knowledge of accounting and auditing principles, banking, and reporting of financial data.
• Maintain knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations related to financial institutions and publicly traded entities including the Sarbanes Oxley Act and the Bank Secrecy Act.
• Must understand bank processes and independently execute audit procedures.
• Assist team members in executing internal control testing and implementing improvements.
• Must remain detail oriented without losing sight of the big picture.

Qualifications:

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• 3+ years of experience in an accounting or finance role; internal audit or public accounting experience preferred.
• CPA/CIA designation preferred.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong critical thinking skills using logic and reasoning to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
• Considerable skill in planning, prioritizing, and maintaining composure under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines.
