Job Description

  • Our Senior Desktop Administrator (Infrastructure) will configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot interoperability and support of computer workstations, laptops, tablets, printers, mobile devices, phones and other computer and telecommunications equipment while coordinating deployments with network and system administrators.

Essential Functions

  • Building, editing and deployment of images for new workstations to corporate employees, including laptops and desktops
  • Will serve as the lead for upkeep and maintenance of deployed workstations, including OS upgrades, software installs, and
  • troubleshooting of software and image issues
  • Experience troubleshooting and enhancing desktop security and configuration management through Group Policy Objects
  • (GPO), in-depth experience with Active Directory and GPOs/GPPs as well as the ability to create custom policies
  • Diagnose and resolve unique, nonrecurring problems associated with application software and operating systems; determine the source of problems and classify their level, priority and nature
  • Configure, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot and support computer workstations, laptops, printers, mobile devices and other
  • computer equipment
  • Install and support PC, laptop, tablet and mobile hardware and software (certifications from CompTIA, Microsoft or HDI are a
  • plus).
  • Create alternative methods of completing tasks, correcting user errors and system inconsistencies to improve the desktop
  • team function
  • Participate in hardware and software reviews and recommend purchases
  • Maintain inventory of installed software, manage software licensing and create policies and procedures for upgrades
  • Work with hardware and software vendors to verify timely product delivery and ensure that new equipment is installed and
  • ready to operate on schedule
  • Analyze and make recommendations for hardware and software standardization
  • Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers,
  • email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems
  • Document procedures, standards, best practices configurations, settings, installation sequences and back-out instructions
  • Architect, design and implementation of SMS/SCCM as well as deployment of applications within a large scale environment
  • Keep systems current and standard, while reducing variation
  • Maintain ownership of tasks and/or projects
  • In-depth knowledge of the registry and file system security
  • Able and willing to wear multiple hats and do what it takes to get the job done
  • Any other duties as assigned


Education & Experience

  • Degree or pursuing degree in Computer Science
  • 2-3 years' experience as a desktop support technician supporting Windows 7/10; Mac OS and mobile devices is a plus
  • Analytical skills essential: PC/Mac skills (MS Office products, Outlook, Google Apps)
  • Basic knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and Networking protocols, concepts and terminologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to document processes and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of at least one imaging/automation tools
  • Strong ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities quickly
  • Self-motivated, with high energy and engaging level of enthusiasm
  • Scripting Language (Powershell)
  • Edit MSI packages via ORCA
  • Advanced knowledge of editing and scripting of PC/Laptop drivers
  • Windows Server and Active Directory experience
