To produce a smooth uniform surface on the product processed down the cell so its free of all casting imperfections, wax issues, and sprues. Work must be stamped and tumbled before it is able to be received.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The prepper uses a flex shaft unit equipped with a threaded mandrel and an abrasive rubber wheel to produce a smooth surface or using a deburring wheel that is mounted on a motor to remove any defects in the piece.
Quality standards for rubber wheeling or Deburring wheel requires that all mold seams, pits, shrinkage porosity and other blemishes be removed. In addition to having a smooth uniform finish, the piece must still have definite edges and corners.
A quality stamp is required to be put in each piece before sending to customer.
Also a tumble machine is used to help create a finished look to the semi -finish product done by prepper.
The prepper is expected to inspect each piece of jewelry before and after they work on it.
