Quality Assurance Engineer


Design and implement automated test frameworks to fill test gaps within a continuous delivery pipeline

• Write and implement high-quality manual & automated tests to verify release readiness

• Develop and execute non-functional automated tests such as performance & load tests

• Design, develop & execute manual & automated acceptance, smoke & regression tests

• Design, develop & execute automated api, integration and contract tests

• Develop and manage software test plans

• Develop and execute database scripts to perform acceptance testing

• Design, document and execute test scenarios to identify functional & non-functional software bugs

• Investigate automated & manual test failures to ensure application correctness

• Partner with product teams to design and develop BDD tests, and acceptance criteria

• Collaborate with application developers in design sessions to understand development approach & build a test strategy

• Participate with DevOps team in configuration of automated build, and release pipelines to set up quality gates and automated test runs

• Be a quality advocate by analyzing software requirements & identifying any risks, and working with other project stakeholders towards a mitigation plan

• Help product and business teams to execute user acceptance testing

• Carry out root cause analysis of production incident and failures by examining application events and logs in application log management and monitoring tools

• Report progress, test metrics and results to the project stakeholders


• Experience designing and building software test frameworks

• Experience with QA strategy development and execution

Manual & Test automation experience with Web and Mobile applications – both hybrid & native

• Software debugging experience

• Experience developing & managing software test plans

• Experience with API & Integration testing

• Experience developing automated regression tests

• Experience writing database scripts for Oracle or an equivalent database

Experience working with product management and application development teams to deliver high quality applications

Java, JS, or equivalent software programming language experience

Experience with version control systems such as Git or an equivalent

Experience with application log management, monitoring & operational intelligence tools such as Splunk or Dynatrace

Some experience in assisting with setting up delivery pipelines

Solid understanding of all parts of Software Engineering (e.g. Requirements, Design, Implementation, Testing) and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

• Experience working in agile or iterative SDLCs

• Experience reporting progress and results to project stakeholders

• Experience with Gherkins language & BDD frameworks such as Cucumber/ or SpecFlow
