The Provider Coverage Coordinator is responsible for developing and maintaining monthly schedules for physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants working for SCP Health.
This position works closely with the Lead Provider Coverage Coordinator, Recruiter, and Medical Staff Liaison.
What you’ll be doing:
Obtain availability and scheduling preferences from contracted clinicians prior to month being scheduled.
Assess coverage needs and generate schedules which guarantees clinicians will be assigned a minimum commitment of shifts based on open availability.
Confirm shifts with clinicians.
Update schedule to accommodate any changes that occur.
Control additional pay at minimal levels and report to Director of Scheduling weekly.
Distribute schedules to clinicians by the first day of the month.
Send original and revised schedules to hospitals for newly completed schedules and any other revisions as changes occur.
Enter and maintain a proper First Schedule Date in company database.
Complete provider information forms for any new provider at a particular facility and/or any changes in address or other provider information.
Enter APAY/Holiday Pay in the Qgenda system.
Complete the accounting of payroll hours obtained from Qgenda and submit to Payroll.
Update and maintain clinician contact information in company database.
Develop and maintain good working relationships with contracted clinicians.
Communicate vital information to the team obtained from daily clinician contact.
Qualifications:
Who/What we are looking for:
You have previous healthcare experience scheduling high volume staff/clinicians a plus.
You have at least 2 years’ experience in a customer service position.
You have experience working in a professional or medical based office environment, a plus!
You are tech savvy with at least intermediate skills Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word and Outlook.
You have experience with Qgenda scheduling system or another scheduling system – that’s a plus!
You have excellent verbal and written communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
You can use persistence, tenacity, and influence to negotiate and engage with clinicians.
You can work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
You have high school diploma or GED required.
This is a home-based position, we are specifically seeking talent in Lafayette, LA, Atlanta, GA and Dallas, TX areas.
