Position Description:

• Using our experience and technical expertise, we help insurance companies build modern infrastructures that improve efficiency and deliver a seamless digital customer experience.
• To that end we are seeking a highly skilled Senior MemSQL and Relational Database Administrator to join our team.
• In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, optimization, and performance tuning of the database systems.
• You will work closely with our development, operations, and support teams to ensure the stability, scalability, and reliability of the database infrastructure.
• This position can be based in either: Lafayette, LA, Raleigh, NC, Austin, TX, Hartford, CT or New Brunswick NJ, and offers a flexible hybrid working model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of MemSQL and relational database systems.
• Ensure the availability, performance, and security of our database systems.
• Optimize database performance by monitoring, analyzing, and tuning database parameters.
• Fix and resolve database issues and incidents.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures to ensure data protection and disaster recovery.
• Design and implement database schema, tables, indexes, and other database objects.
• Handle database security by implementing access controls, authentication, and encryption.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database administrators.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to ensure database requirements are met for application development, testing, and deployment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in MemSQL and relational database administration.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of proven ability in MemSQL and relational database administration.
• Validated understanding of database architecture, design, and development.
• Validated skills with database administration tools and utilities, such as MemSQL Studio, MySQL Workbench, and Oracle Enterprise Manager.
• Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
• Experience with database backup and recovery procedures and disaster recovery planning.
• Knowledge of database security principles and standard methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Certifications in MemSQL and/or Oracle database administration are a plus.
