The role of the Marketing Project Manager is responsible for executing and maintaining the promotional calendar for print and web.
As the key contact between internal clients and the marketing department, the Marketing Project Manager works directly with the Director of Marketing Strategy and Operations and cross-functional teams to coordinate action to complete non-catalog marketing plans.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Gather key information necessary to execute marketing plans, project plans, timelines, etc.
Facilitate production meetings.
Participate in strategy meetings as necessary.
Provide information to the Executive Director for marketing operations budgeting and financial forecasting.
Ensure that project timelines are met at each step, bring awareness to all parties when deadlines are missed.
Enforce use and reporting of project management software internally and cross-functionally.
Develop lasting relationships with internal client personnel that foster client ties.
Communicate internal clients’ feedback to the creative and production and discuss the next steps in the project or campaign.
Communicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.
Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
Communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
Continually seek opportunities to increase internal customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Build a knowledge base of each internal client’s business, organization and objectives.
Effectively communicate relevant project information to superiors.
Ensure projects are completed according to the project plan, timelines and within budget.
Oversee the implementation of all print promotion, collaborate on online/web/email marketing (with digital team).
Identify resources needed and work collaboratively with Projects Planners to assign individual responsibilities.
Check the status of each client's job(s) and provide status updates to key business drivers (ED, BU, Sales, etc.) regularly.
Review deliverables prepared by marketing team before passing to client, implement quality assurance procedures.
Proofread all marketing projects prior to client review and final production.
Finalize spec sheets for Production Director.
Manage project budgets with creative and production teams and Exec Dir of Marketing.
