Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with planning, coordinating and executing marketing promotions and campaigns.
  • Creates and edits copy for marketing materials to use for internal and external audiences that is accurate, clear and well-researched. This includes, but is not limited to, staff guides, brochures, website, social media, newsletters and annual reports.
  • Organize and implement the Meritus Credit Union scholarship program (and any other scholarship programs offered), including collaborating on program marketing, processing applications, serving as the liaison with the scholarship committee and maintaining accurate records for all applicants and recipients.
  • Organize and implement the Meritus Credit Union teacher grant program (and any other grant program offered), including collaborating on program marketing.
  • Plan and coordinate the execution of member and community events.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Intern to track, maintain inventory and order marketing collateral and marketing items.
  • Coordinate printing, promotional item orders and other projects with marketing vendors (e.g. obtain quotes, monitor progress and meeting of deadlines and confirm quality of deliverables).
  • Assist with the research and development of new products and marketing strategies including packaging, pricing, integration and software tools.
  • Coordinate branch merchandising and delivery of marketing collateral to branch locations including regular branch visits to ensure a consistent marketing experience across all locations.
  • Establish and implement a Branch Marketing Ambassador program.
  • Assist with conducting member surveys and/or focus group meetings.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the Marketing team, driving projects forward and ensuring they are aligned with strategic priorities, objectives and deadlines.
  • Maintain an understanding of the credit union's products, services, policies and procedures.
  • Provide additional department support as assigned.

Work Environment:

  • Position requires occasional driving to perform job duties at a credit union branch or remote location. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and adequate auto insurance is required. 
  • Weekend, evening hours and travel required. 
  • Extensive use of a desktop computer and/or laptop is required.

Salary Range: $34,320-$49,920



  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, business administration or related field is preferred, but must have a minimum of an associate’s degree or equivalent training or work experience in this area.

  • Minimum of two years similar or related work experience required.  

Required Skills:
  • Photography and video experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Highly motivated, detail oriented, creative, proactive, and self-directed.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organization, prioritization, analytical and problem-solving abilities needed to meet deadlines.
  • Team player with ability to establish effective working relationships with all levels of staff in the organization.
  • Strong time management, negotiation, sales and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks, projects and information simultaneously.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Physical Requirements:
  • Work required includes physical activity including lifting, bending, squatting, twisting, and reaching.
  • Required to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds.
