  • The ability to satisfactorily adhere to company attendance policies.
  • Solid command of operating all tool room equipment and machinery including sinker EDM.
  • Sharpens and maintains production tooling.
  • Able to troubleshoot basic single operation tools in power press.
  • Ability to determine course of action applied to problematic tooling both in and out of press.
  • Understanding of basic wire EDM operations and capabilities.
  • Some design work of basic single operation tools which includes mounting tooling into die sets.
  • Basic comprehension of CNC required for incorporating CNC machining into design of tooling.
  • Construct and build basic blanking and forming tools.
  • Creates hubs and dies from existing tooling as repairs require.
  • Introductory level understanding of progressive and transfer tooling design and layouts.
  • Ability to understand the basic operation and perform some preventive maintenance on progressive tools.
  • Able to create one’s own 2-D drawing/sketches for tooling component production.
  • Basic understanding of the working principles and capabilities of Master Cam software (optional)
  • Evaluate design & determine what type of die set to use


Qualifications:

Skills:

  • Ability to understand the basic operation and perform some preventive maintenance on progressive tools.
  • Good communication and Team Skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal instruction.

Experience: 

  • Formal T&D Apprenticeship and or 5-years experience as a Toolmaker.
