Position Description:
- CGI has an immediate need for a Java/AWS L3 Support person to join our financial services team in Columbia, SC, Lafayette, IN or Sterling, VA.
- Due to the current COVID-19 status, candidates will not be required to work within the physical work location at this time.
- When COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, they will be required to be located within the proximity of the assigned CGI location.

- Be part of a team that performs application Production support services (not infrastructure support).
- Role is to perform as an extension of Development teams and take ownership of application resiliency and stability.
- Role requires a high level of technical competency, strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to Triage issues-must be able to debug reading Java code, collaborate with support team and resolving issues within expected response time/ resolution time SLA's is required.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Provide Production application support for one or more enterprise level applications
- Respond to Production support calls and Service Requests for applications in production in order to make quick repair to keep application running in production.
- Triage Issues and provide solutions, coordinate with various support groups for resolution
- Develop and maintain SME knowledge on applications
- Work on Ad-hoc requests for queries / reports
- Perform Root cause Analysis on Incidents and recommend/ implement solution
- Document Root Cause Analysis and also maintain/produce documents as per prescribed methodologies
- Perform Impact analysis on changes and recommend / make changes to production
- Participate in all Agile ceremonies including planning, grooming, product demonstration and team retrospectives.
- Escalate unresolved issues to proper personnel
- Provide UAT and SIT support as necessary
- Perform all work under production support SLA's as applicable
- Ensure application stability and health by incorporating process improvements and implementing long term solutions
- Part of a team working on a rotation schedule under 24x7 support model
Qualifications:
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Mid-Level resource with at least 5-6 years of Application Development/ Support experience
- Application Production Support experience, Strong Problem solving / Debugging skills, Ability to react quickly and respond to production Incidents and user requests
- Strong Communication / Coordination and Negotiation abilities needed
- Strong Tech knowledge and ability to learn quickly new applications
- Tech Stack Experience
- Java/J2EE (Java8), Spring, Java script, Unix/Linux
- Front-end Framework: Angular, node.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/ Typescript
- Backend: SQL, Pl/SQL, any other DB knowledge
- AWS related: Elastic 3, SNS, SQS, Step functions, Lambda, API gateway, RDS, Dynamo DB, Postgres
Desired Skillset
- Financial Services/Mortgage Industry knowledge or exposure
- Service oriented architecture: Micro services using spring boot, TIBCO
- Experience with Enterprise tools JIRA/MyServices/Testing Tools
- Experience with DEV OPS concepts and experience with DEV OPS Tools
- Any Monitoring Tools: SPLUNK, Dynatrace, Cloudwatch
- Financial Services/Mortgage Industry knowledge or exposure
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems or related field
