The purpose of the Gemstones Buyer Specialist is to support the Gemstones Buying and Merchandising teams with the objective of achieving continued growth and financial profitability for Stuller Inc.
Help develop buying plans and pricing strategies.
Analysis of all aspects of Stuller’s gemstones inventory position.
Buy a range of goods as determined by the Director of Gemstones Merchandising and directed by the Vice President of Diamond & Gemstones Procurement.
Scope:
Affects total sales volume, gross profit, and inventory levels
Responsibilities:
Collaborates with the Inventory Planning and Merchandising teams to develop buying plans and pricing strategies that maximize turns and overall profitability.
Work with vendors to order, select and purchase loose gemstones.
Review sales, demand forecast and on-hand inventory to maintain a continuously current buying plan.
Actively maintains mutually beneficial vendor relationships to ensure that we are purchasing the right product, at the right time and at the right price for our customers.
Arranges delivery of merchandise.
Values and evaluates profitability of purchases, including analysis of inventory turns and GMROI
Works with Inventory Control team to ensure accurate receipt of product.
Assists in sourcing for special orders requests.
Analyzes excess, dated, and slow turning inventory.
Works with Gemstones Quality Assurance team as needed to participate in gemstones grading.
Maintains knowledge of world markets to understand industry trends.
Establishes, develops, and maintains constructive, collaborative relationships within the department and across the organization.
Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years gemstones buying experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
GIA GG required.
