  • Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of software engineers and provide technical leadership in terms of architecting applications, mentoring developers, making smart technology decisions
  • Perform complex application design in the latest techniques and technologies such as AWS, Hadoop, Apache Spark, Python and Machine learning.
  • Apply expertise and research designs with subject matter experts to devise requirements, design specifications, and usage criteria for Big Data solutions.
  • Provide oversight, direction and mentoring to ensure adherence to business direction, architectural strategies, and enterprise technology standards.


  • At least 4+ years of big data experience with different languages - Strong programming skills - C++, Java, Python, Scala along with ability to pick up new languages - Past demonstrable programming work.
  • 4 + years implementing Big Data solutions – Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Oozie, Mapreduce, Apache Spark etc.
  • At least 4 years of software development experience deploying enterprise applications
  • At least 2 years of experience with Build and Deployment automation (CI/CD)
  • Experience with technologies like Github, Jenkins, Docker etc.
  • Working knowledge of Cloud services (AWS, Azure etc.)
  • Collaborate with business, legal, IT partners and developers to find the best solution possible.
  • Expertise in designing business intelligence systems, dashboard reporting, and analytical reporting is also a plus.


  • Background in systems architecture
  • Open source savvy, possessing experience using common open source libraries/frameworks.
  • Expertise in object-oriented analysis and design.
  • 5+ years software development experience with ETL and Big Data platforms
  • Knowledge and experience designing and developing large-scale solutions
