  • All tax matters of the Company, including strategy, planning and compliance
  • Prepare all federal and state income tax work papers and work with outside consultants to oversee the preparation and filing of these returns
  • Coordinate and oversee international tax filings and compliance
  • Prepare and file all state and local sales tax returns
  • Prepare and file Canadian GST returns
  • Oversee the preparation of various state annual reports
  • Represent the Company in all tax inquiries and audits by third parties
  • Identify, analyze, and communicate complex tax issues and their impact on the Company and its operations to key stakeholders and executive leaders, with the ability to influence
  • Drive various functional teams inside and outside the organization to meet deadlines, deliver results and maximize value
  • Lead and develop a robust tax team to support business operations and strategic initiatives
  • Work with various functional teams to identify and assess tax opportunities and proactively address tax exposures through the design of processes and procedures
  • Direct the management of federal and state income and sales tax research and compliance
  • Ensure all income and transaction tax return elections, disclosures, and accounting and reporting methods are accurately prepared, timely filed, and well documented
  • Identify and execute on opportunities for process improvements and transformation efforts within the tax organization
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks and effectively prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate a high level of diplomacy and tact, ensuring confidentiality of information when required
  • Self-motivated, determined, and able to work under own initiative
  • Demonstrate decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Stay current on new tax laws, rulings, and cases affecting individual and entities


Qualifications:

Skills & Experience:

  • Must possess active credential: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) with strong tax experience with recent exposure to partnership, S Corporation and C Corporation entities and extensive knowledge of tax laws
  • CPA with 10 or more years of recent experience preparing high income and complex federal and various state partnership, S corp and C corp tax returns
  • Experience with multi-state sales and use tax compliance
  • Audit experience a plus (IRS and state tax authorities)
  • Proficient with technology; solid knowledge of computer operations and software
  •  Enjoy constant learning in federal and state income tax, sales tax etc.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, research skills and determination
  • Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to effectively articulate such
  • A passion for tax planning and the use of tax law to achieve cashflow savings
  • Ability to prioritize various projects
  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
