The role of a Custodian is to keep buildings in clean & orderly condition.
The custodian will perform heavy cleaning duties such as clean floors, shampooing rugs/carpet, washing walls & glass, & removing rubbish, notifying management of the need for repairs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Sweep, mop, & vacuum floors
Gather & empty trash cans
Service, clean, & supply restrooms
Clean & polish furniture & fixtures as well as clean windows, glass partitions, & mirrors
Dust furniture, walls, machines, & equipment
Mix water & detergents or acids in containers to prepare cleaning solutions according to specifications
Steam clean or shampoo carpets when needed
Strip, seal, finish, & polish floors when needed
Gather & compact cardboard throughout the facility
Keep custodial rooms clean & in an orderly manner
Make many adjustments & minor servicing to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing, & electrical systems
